Levi Kitchen

“The Chef”

Levi was born and raised in Washougal Washington. His childhood home, where his parents still reside, used to have a trail down to the beautiful Washougal Motocross Park. He started racing when he was five years old but he didn’t start taking racing serious until he was 17. He grew up just being a kid who enjoyed racing and was good at it, but also liked fishing, golfing, BMX bikes and scooters. In December of 2018, after a conversation with his parents on whether he would just become a local pro while working for his parents electrical company, or go away to a training facility, in hopes of getting some recognition at the Loretta Lynn National, he decided to move to Kentwood, Louisiana where he lived in an RV while training with Rob and Sherry Burkhart at the Real Deal Training Facility. That following summer he went to Loretta’s in the Limited B classes and won 6 out of 6 motos while racing under the company of Ed Torrence and the Rock River Yamaha Team. He was presented with the Amateur Rider of the Year Award that year at the ranch. While the chatter was all about the fact that he wasn’t competing in the modified classes, and would he do as well if we was, he continued to progress that year. He went on to win all of the overalls for the Supercross portion of the James Stewart Mini Olympics Race in Florida and an overall in the outdoor portion of the race in the Pro classes later that same year. He was presented with the Silver Tire Award which is given to the rider in the Pro and A classes that accumulates the highest number of points in the Supercross main and Motocross main events combined. It was after the results at this race and his Loretta’s results, that Star Racing Yamaha presented him with his first professional contract. His last race as an amateur was at Loretta’s in August of 2021 where he would take the overall in both the Open Pro and 250 Pro classes, and be presented with the Nicky Hayden “Horizon Award”. It was at the start of his professional career in late 2021, where the commentators of the races and the fans began to have fun with his last name and started to refer to him as “The Chef”, and it stuck!

Fast forward to the end of 2023 and Levi signed a contract to ride for Mitch Payton with Pro Circuit Kawasaki. He lives full time in Groveland Florida where he is back training with his amateur trainer, Rob Burkhart. His physical trainer is Peter Park, owner of Platinum Fitness located in Santa Barbara California. When not racing and training, he still enjoys fishing on his bass boat and golfing.
